Michael Dowling and Helen Moody

Helen Moody, PhD, specializes in communication strategies for scientists and engineers. Since 1980, her company has provided communication consulting and training to a distinguished national clientele that includes national and federal laboratories, government agencies, utilities, medical equipment manufacturers, and biotechnology laboratories. Dr. Moody is the author of the Writing by Design training series, which includes Scientific and Technical Reports, Instruction Documents, and Business Documents. As a consultant, Dr. Moody prepares strategic communication plans to help organizations align their documents and interpersonal practices with their missions and goals. To improve interpersonal communication, Dr Moody and her associates lead organizations through practical skills training, such as Teamwork in Action™, and facilitate appreciative inquiry through Communication and Community™. Dr Moody's alter ego is "Miss Grammar," whose Web column, Ask Miss Grammar™, has been visited by millions since its inception in 1996.

Michael Dowling is Professor of Innovation and Technology Management at the University of Regensburg, Germany. Previously he had been an Associate Professor in the School of Business at the University of Georgia where he taught presentation techniques to MBA and undergraduate students. He has published articles in Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, California Management Review, Business Horizons, and Columbia Journal of World Business. In great demand as an international conference presenter and executive education instructor, Dr. Dowling has also consulted with various companies and organizations, including the Bell South Corporation, Southwestern Bell, UBM Consulting, and the National Broadcasting Company. He is co-author of Presenting with Style: Advanced Strategies for Superior Presentations.
